With this function you can construct your weekly calendar of lessons, which is customized on the basis of the courses that you intend to follow. Warning: the personal schedule does not replace the presentation of the study plan! It's an informal tool that can help you better manage the organization of class attendance before the study plan presentation. After the study plan presentation we recommend you to use the Lecture timetable service in your Online Services.
To create your customized schedule follow these instructions:
- Click on the "Enable" link to proceed. You will be asked your surname and first name in order to determine your alphabetic grouping.
-
To add or remove courses from your personal schedule, use the small icons which are found next to the courses:
- addition of the course
- removal of the course
- selection of the section of the Laboratory of Architecture
(Note: the effective area in which the teaching will be carried out will be determined after the presentation of the Study Plans)
-
The sidebar on the left displays the number of lessons included in schedule.
There are also these commands:
- View the schedule: allows the viewing of the weekly synoptic schedule
- Delete the schedule: cancels the selections made
When you have finished the entry, you can print the calendar you have made.

Course Description
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with tools and knowledge for the design of biomedical signal processing algorithms, their correct implementation and the analysis of the obtained results.
The topics are: Introduction to software tools for scientific computing and their use for the design of biosignal processing algorithms. Data Analysis. Data fitting, criteria for model selection and identification, LMS estimation. Interpolation. Signal analysis. FFT and harmonic analysis of biosignals. Design of FIR and IIR filters for biomedical applications, detection of waves and patterns. Spectral estimate: parametric and non-parametric methods, application to EEG and Heart Rate Variability signals. Enhancement of evoked potentials: averaging and single sweep approach. Advanced topics of biosignal processing will be exploited through specific project assignment. Project topics range from multi-variate parametric estimate, optimal filters, time-frequency transform, to non-linear analysis, synchronization and coupling. Biomedical signal and data to be analysed: Electrocardiogram (ECG) blood pressure, respiration, Elettroencephalogram (EEG) and evoked potentials, otoacustic emission, voice signals, DNA sequences.
The exam is organized in two phases: 1) A project dealing with the design and the implementation of a biosignal processing algorithm published in literature is assigned to students. Students are asked to implement the algorithm, test it and apply it to a biosignal dataset. Students must also write a report describing the algorithm, the design choices and the obtained results. 2) After having delivered the report, Students are admitted to the oral part of the exam in which the acquired knowledge (and how those are used to realize the project) will be tested.
To integrate the practical lab activities and to stimulate active learning, structured thinking and knowledge skills as well as group discussion and presentation ability, the students, organized in groups, will be asked to present a specific topic and discuss it with other students in flipped/blended classroom modality.
It should be noted that this is a limited number access course. The mandatory procedure for access request is here http://www.ccsbio.polimi.it/?page_id=27 )".
