Course Description The course aims at providing an introductory knowledge of particle physics, achieved by suitably develop and complete some topics already treated within the frame of the course "Physics of the nucleus", for which this course constitutes a possible, natural complement. In particular, particle phenomenology and the related possible classification schemes will be organically developed. In addition, key aspects in the description of the internal structure of hadrons (quark model), as well as of the fundamental interactions (strong, weak, gauge theories), will be presented.
