The aim of the course is to provide students with both academic knowledge of western culture and the practical competences needed to put it to use during their staying in Europe. The rest of the syllabus is mainly dedicated to Modern Italy. Students will have an opportunity to discuss crucial facets of Italian culture, ranging from history to arts to local customs. Special attention will be paid to social narratives, which will be used as an entry point for a critical approach to the investigation of identities and cultural trends.
