Course Description The aim of the course is to introduce the basis concepts which are the basis of the mathematical modeling of geometric and free-form shapes: in particular the fundamentals of parametric geometry are introduced along with their application to (virtual) design. The main topics covered in the course are: 1) Algebraic and geometric vectors 2) Parametric curves and surfaces 3) Matrices and transformations 4) Generation of curve and surfaces 5) Free form curves and surfaces: Bezier, B-spline and NURBS POVRay or Scilab are used to show some applications of the theroretical concepts in the context of Computer Graphics.
