Course Description The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the organization and functioning of international markets, with special reference to the European Union case. The course will discuss the effects of the globalization of markets and the economic rationale and basic principles of the main international economic institutions affecting international markets, such as the IMF, World Bank, WTO and EU . The history, evolution and current functioning of the European Union will be analyzed. At the end of the course, students should be able to understand how the process of international and European economic integration has taken place, how it affects the economic choices of firms and consumers and how economic policy decisions are made within the EU.
