Course Description The course has the object of making students aware of design developments in this third industrial revolution, period of globalization, transition from analog to digital, growing impact of new technologies. Today designers work in new industrial sectors because of the competition in the global market caused by globalization. Furthermore new classifications are widening: design art, strategic design, corporate image, design for all, human-centered design, design for sustainability, social design and so on. The course is based on lectures and on meetings with designers, industrialists and experts in different sectors. The exam is based on a oral presentation with images about a topic that has to be chosen by the student and approved by the teacher.
