With this function you can construct your weekly calendar of lessons, which is customized on the basis of the courses that you intend to follow. Warning: the personal schedule does not replace the presentation of the study plan! It's an informal tool that can help you better manage the organization of class attendance before the study plan presentation. After the study plan presentation we recommend you to use the Lecture timetable service in your Online Services.
To create your customized schedule follow these instructions:
Click on the "Enable" link to proceed. You will be asked your surname and first name in order to determine your alphabetic grouping.
To add or remove courses from your personal schedule, use the small icons which are found next to the courses:
addition of the course
removal of the course
selection of the section of the Laboratory of Architecture (Note: the effective area in which the teaching will be carried out will be determined after the presentation of the Study Plans)
The sidebar on the left displays the number of lessons included in schedule. There are also these commands:
View the schedule: allows the viewing of the weekly synoptic schedule
Delete the schedule: cancels the selections made
When you have finished the entry, you can print the calendar you have made.

Synthesis of the subjects
The content of the course deals with the role of maintenance management (or, better, of the asset lifecycle management) for guaranteeing the reliability, availability, quality and safety of complex systems operation, both considering the industrial systems (like manufacturing or process industry), the service systems (like airports, health systems) or the infrastructures (like transport systems, road networks).
Brief description of the subjects
The course topics will have an increasing importance in the near future due to the need of considering the entire life cycle of engineering and infrastructural assets, and to pursue their efficiency and dependability, while guaranteeing their sustainability and the minimization of the Total Cost of Ownership. In this context, the ever growing importance of the management aspect of maintenance is central for lowering hidden costs (due to production losses, low service level, low quality, ..) and increasing the company competitivity. This new perspective of asset management allows a complete redefinition of the maintenance role, which relies on a more complex and integrated vision of reality. Starting from the traditional concept, but rough, of maintenance in which it was limited to solve lacks and failures coming from the defective design and realization of assets, the new vision integrates design, realization and management of the asset life in an unified picture. This approach is called Asset Lifecycle Management or Engineering Asset Management. This scenario's change is due both to the previous context's factors, but also to technological and organizational reasons, like: i) the trend of Companies to concentrate on core competences/processes, outsourcing non critical ones (such as maintenance), ii) the availability of new and powerful ICT and automatic diagnostic technologies (tele-service, tele-maintenance, tele-monitoring), iii) the development of new organizational business models like Global Service for the delivery of the maintenance service. The tutorials of the course allow students to practice the concepts and methods discussed during the lectures, considering real industrial and sercice cases. Students will work on small groups using simple spreadsheets as support tools. The course is promoted within a general agreement between Politecnico di Milano and AIMan (the Italian Asset Management Association). Some lessons are teached by industrial experts.
