Course Description Description of the plants for the ferrous and non ferrous ores reduction to produce alloys for advanced application (energy, aerospace etc.). Advanced fundamentals about the metals and alloys solidification: continuous casting of steel, aluminum alloys, innovative foundry process, thyxoforming. Use of electromagnetic fields in the productive process: modification of the fluid-dynamic condition, heating systems. Evaluation and control of the environmental impact of the plants and of the processes. Fundamental of safety and healt. Advanced concepts about the cold, warm ad hot metal forming: processes of cold deformation and deformability maps of the alloys. Monocrystals, metal glasses and metal foam: magnetic properties, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and production technologies.
