Course Description The primary goal of the course is to finalize skills in dynamic representation of space at the scale of architecture and city planning, analysis and project development. In terms of contents, the course aims at linking the themes of morphological analysis and urban design to those of perception and communication: it will expand the traditional principles of modeling towards a combined use of both physical and digital models, capable of restoring both conceptual and perceptual aspects of the urban environment. Lectures are complemented by practical experiments. This approach will test the effectiveness of spatial models in the phases of analysis and design of architectural and urban projects, in order to study and verify morphological and spatial relationships. Moreover, it will investigate the relationship between plan structure and three-dimensional urban form from the perceptual point of view. Thus, for example, the view of public space and of the built environment from the street, enriched by the representation of some contextual conditions such as solar radiation at different stages of the day and seasons; this it will be addressed in a dynamic key aiming at reading the outcome linked to the everyday experience of the city.
