Course Title CONTEMPORARY ART STUDIO
Course Type Mono-Disciplinary Course
Credits (CFU / ECTS) 6.0
Semester First Semester
Course Description The course is a visual arts lab, and even students registered with the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera might attend it, and it will be acknowledged in their study plan. The course will materialize in an attempt to answer a series of possible questions: what is a work of art? What kind of knowledge tool is it? How can we regenerate the reciprocal relationships and influences between art and architecture, beyond any type of formal assonance? To try and answer some of these questions, the course moves from a precise viewpoint and methodological approach: the realization of a work. During the first meetings, practical tips will be provided on exhibitions to watch, places to attend on an ongoing basis and texts to read in order to know what is happening in the world of contemporary art and cling better to the reality of art in its practical manifestation. This will make it possible to adjust the discussion to an increasingly higher level. The lab generates itself through the encounter with students, and out of their sensitivities, their remarks, a discussion that is going to be methodological will spring up: every meeting will produce a shared heritage capable of providing the springboard for one's work.
