Course Description An increasing number of applications require processing continuously flowing data to obtain timely responses to complex queries. The course aims at presenting the state of the art of the field and the most recent research results in stream and complex event processing. History and principles of stream computing and complex event processing: Description of the area, Typical applications, and Challenges A modeling framework for DSMS and CEP: Functional, Processing, Deployment, Interaction, Data, Time, Rule, and Language models The realm of stream reasoning: RDF stream data model, C-SPARQL language, continuous entailment regimes, advance forms of stream reasoning.
