Course Description The course dedicated to the techniques of high performance computing and is aimed at experienced programmers who wish to be introduced to the problems of parallel programming or wish to maximize the efficiency of their applications on massively parallel systems. Effective techniques for developing and optimising programs for parallel scientific and technical computing are presented, along with interesting sample applications and development proposals. Introduction to parallel hardware architectures and related programming techniques. Presentation of the common tools and libraries nowadays available for developing parallel scientific applications: MPI and OpenMP. Introduction to parallel scientific libraries. Discussion of winning strategies for massively parallel application programming.
