Course Description Construction industrialization concept. Present situation and future perspectives. General design principles. Structural durability. Design tolerances. Quality control. New materials. Frame and Skeletal Structures Construction typologies. Bracing systems. Critical and collapse loads for some particular schemes, incrementa failure. Precast r.c. and p.c. beams: typologies, design requirements, structural details. Lateral stability of large depth beams. Precast columns, beam-column joints, corbels. Single and Multi-storey buildings: plane and spatial static schemes; horizontal and vertical joints. Particular schemes. Bracing problems. Industrial buildings: bearings and scheme problems; ceiling structures: beam plane covering elements; space trusses. Lateral stability of precast r.c. and p.c. large depth beams, instability in precast structures (scheme errors), lateral action effects. Bracing calculation (shear walls or plane trusses); foundations and infrastructures: precast foundations, problems of cast in place foundations.
