Course Description Principles of stoichiometry and kinetics of chemical processes, biochemical and batch reactors. Speed and order of reaction. Reactions of order 0, 1, 2. Enzyme kinetics saturation, inhibition's models. Influence of pH and temperature. Experimental determination of kinetic model with batch experiments. Reaction systems. Series and parallel reactions. Matrix representation of complex systems. Reactors: streaming ideals, PFR with axial dispersion. Comparisation. Real reactors. Stay times distribution. Traces experimental tests. Sizing. Reactors: volume variable, phase sequence, for clean-up, biological, phase transfer and biofilm. Fundamentals of transport phenomena. Conservation of mass, energy and momentum: general principles and applications in environmental engineering practice. Noise pollution: phenomenology and measurement, noise dispersion and transmission, prevention techniques. General principles and instrumentation for measuring environmental data.
