Semester First Semester
Course Description The evolution of technological tools for sharing information has opened up numerous scenarios to the representation of the design project and communication design. The Graphics Computer Laboratory interacts with Architecture Information, an inter-disciplinary field straddling the worlds of design, graphics and publishing, and tackles the techniques for developing communication artifacts, with a special focus on the third dimension. The arguments offered are dealt with both theoretically and practically, with a view to building a knowledge of the subject based on solid conceptual notions, and a design ability acquainted with the operational mechanisms. The applied computer science module deals with web communication, revolving around the issues of presentation of Computer Graphics contents and design and implementation of interactive elements. The Digital Design module tackles the switch from bi-dimensional representation to the creation of three-dimensional models, analysing geometries, transformations, lighting, visual performance of materials and tools in support of the construction and visualisation of 3D models in digital space, as well as the process of creation of computer-generated graphics.
