Course Description The course presents the methodologies to identify and control the mechatronic systems. More in details, the modeling techniques of the integrated mechatronic system (including mechanical system, control lows and actuating device) have been proposed: The control modern theory applied to both lumped and distributed parameters structures and machine is presented. Some industrial application are analyzed in the field of mechatronics deepening the knowledge of the so-called smart actuators such as piezoelectric and magnetostrictive actuators as well as actuators based on shape memory alloys (SMA).
