With this function you can construct your weekly calendar of lessons, which is customized on the basis of the courses that you intend to follow. Warning: the personal schedule does not replace the presentation of the study plan! It's an informal tool that can help you better manage the organization of class attendance before the study plan presentation. After the study plan presentation we recommend you to use the Lecture timetable service in your Online Services.
To create your customized schedule follow these instructions:
- Click on the "Enable" link to proceed. You will be asked your surname and first name in order to determine your alphabetic grouping.
-
To add or remove courses from your personal schedule, use the small icons which are found next to the courses:
addition of the course
removal of the course
selection of the section of the Laboratory of Architecture (Note: the effective area in which the teaching will be carried out will be determined after the presentation of the Study Plans)
-
The sidebar on the left displays the number of lessons included in schedule.
There are also these commands:
View the schedule: allows the viewing of the weekly synoptic schedule
Delete the schedule: cancels the selections made
When you have finished the entry, you can print the calendar you have made.

Course Description
|
The teaching means to provide the base knowledge, the methodological elements and the operative instrumentations propaedeutic to the management of the built environment deepening the knowledge of the constructive, distributive and functional characteristics of the buildings.
The finality of the teaching can be resumed in 4 points:
1. to understand the essence of buildings as a synthesis of means and finalities, as a union of form, function and technique, the form influenced by esthetical parameters , the function deriving from human activities and the constructive characters modifying with the introduction of new building elements.
2. to analyze buildings through the category of building type to recognize the invariant characters of buildings, to understand the origin of building forms and to assimilate the rules of spatial and structural design to obtain quality in building works.
3. to understand the rules of design and the constraints that the standards (the ones about fire and architectural feature barring) impose to the distributive and technological choices.
4. to individuate the propensity of a building to be retrained and to know the strategies for the refunctionalization and the transformation of the diffused building heritage.
The course is divided into lessons and exercitations. The lessons analyze the concept of type and typology with particular deepening in residential buildings, office buildings, and commercial ones.
For each building typology structural aspects, functions, space articulation and their steering are deepened, underlining the deep connections between constructive characters and spatial ones, in history and in contemporary design.
The analysis of the main building typologies is meant through the description of the type history, of the type characters (elementary typological module - dimensions - economic character of the type - constraints - scales - steering - relation with the urban contest), of the structural typologies and some indicative instances in history of constructions. Progressively the parameters for the reading of the main constraints imposed by construction and hygienic standards and by fire and architectural feature barring standards are introduced, together with the constitutive characters of each building type.
During the exercitation the students will be conducted to the reading of the constitutive elements of each building type and to the individuation of the constraints that the standard impose to the distributive and technological choices.
