Course Description The course is meant to introduce to the mathematical modeling of mechanical phenomenon. Starting from a limited number of experimental verified assumptions and with opportune schematizations, we'll deduce the laws which govern the equilibrium and the motion of bodies. Specifically we'll deduce the equations of equilibrium and motion of bodies schematized as points, point systems or continuous, mobile in plan or space, free or subjected to constraints, and we'll define their characteristics. We'll deduce the cardinal equations, the equation of energy, the virtual works principle and the equation of Lagrange, we'll provide the methods to reach their solutions, showing significant cases of calculus of motion and equilibrium.
