Hydraulic pumps and turbines. Characteristics curves. Cavitation, The laws of modeling. Machine handling compressible fluids. Application of the laws modeling. Rotary compressors. Centrifugal and axial turbocompressors. Impulse and reaction axial turbines. Plants for electric power generation: Energy sources and conversion technologies (present and future scenarios). Saturated steam Rankine plants, superheated steam and reheat Rankine plants. Steam generators, condensers and regenerators. Gas turbine engines. Simple, intercooled, recuperative and reheat cycles. Steam and gas combined cycles. Reciprocating internal combustion engines.Plant for refrigeration and heat production.
