Course Description General aspects: electrical drives as components for industrial automation, transportation systems and energy management. DC electrical machine: dynamic model (introduction). Control schemes Induction machine: dynamic model (introduction). Scalar control scheme. Field oriented control. DTC and DSC Synchronous machine: dynamic model (introduction). Control schemes and operation limits for an AC and DC brushless. Reluctance machines. Secondary aspects: electric braking, protection, driver, software and hardware design. Criteria for electrical drives choice in industry or transportation. Efficiency by means of electrical drives. Static conversion systems for power flow management and energy quality: converters schemes and control techniques for energy quality and management. Power train control in diffused generation plants, connected to the grid. Design of control schemes on an experimental setup.
