Course Description The course is aimed to deepen the concepts of dynamic simulation, and to illustrate the architecture of the most popular software tools for modeling and simulation. The first part of the course will be focused on illustrating the causal approach to modeling, on which the most widespread simulation tool is based: Simulink. The second part of the course will be aimed at introducing the acausal approach, based on object-oriented languages and programming tools. In particular, in this second part, the characteristics of the modeling language Modelica will be introduced, now standard "de facto" for the modular, multi domain simulation, as well as the architecture of the most used Modelica interpreter: Dymola.
