Course Description Nowadays, the reduced capability to identify new resources and the increasing demand for safety, quality and new services forces any technology filed to identify a set of methods, criteria and solutions that would improve the existing making it more efficient, independent and secure. It is in this scenario that ICT performs its role due to its ability to transform the inherent characteristics of each object/environment into a logic programmed and adaptive and to "hide", pervading the environment, at the eyes of users. The aim of the course is to describe, for different areas of interest, design techniques, criteria for the development and existing and future technologies in the field of pervasive systems, focusing the attention on the need to make the systems autonomous, both from a of energy supply and the capacity to detect and tolerate failures (safety).
