Course Description The course provides the study elements on the new ""ways of living"" and on the human experience places. The reading of changes to the daily space in the house and city is addressed through historical periods, from the Middle Ages to the IT and post-industrial revolution. With the support of the New History, it will be possible to see how today the traditional dimensions of public and private dissolve: the house becomes a ""communicating point with the world"" and the urban spaces become a ""private extension"". For the first time in history, privacy is no longer guaranteed by the wall or from the lock of the front door, intimacy and family secret are not anymore as before. In the city, shared use of things and places, the disruption of functions and zoning, the closeness of spaces and cultures generate original ways of management and new mindsets. There are new types of spaces and new names: semi-public, semi-private, spaces of relation and spaces for yourself, but also non-places, iper-places and crossing places.
