Course Description The course deals with the field of science of the most commonly used materials in the building envelope, with an in-depth study of their physical-mechanical and chemical characteristics, with particular reference to the problems of durability and efficiency. Another part of the course is dedicated to deepening the elements of building physics that concern, in particular, the building envelope and its interaction with other construction systems and subsystems, such as heating and cooling systems and control of solar radiation, as in the case of external shielding systems, particular attention will be paid to the integration into the building envelope of energy production systems that exploit renewable energy sources, such as, for example, solar-thermal systems and photovoltaic.
