Course Description This course aims at filling the students educational gaps on technologies for water, air and soil decontamination, with focus on the application of electrochemical methods to pollution sensing and abatement. The following topics will be discussed: electrochemical behavior of pollutants, electrochemical sensing of pollutants, electrochemical technologies for pollution control, electrochemical disinfection, commercial applications. Seminaries will be given by industry representatives, both in the field of technologies manufacturing and water managing. The concepts of the course will be strengthened by on-site visits in manufacturers sites and water purification plants, to give the students a clear view of both the production and the application of purification electrochemical technologies.
