Course Description The course will provide the students with the main theoretical concepts and practical skills to solve constrained optimization problems arising in automation and control in a broader sense, such as nonlinear and constrained estimation, constrained optimal control, and computation of optimal orbits and equilibria of constrained and nonlinear systems. These problems will be treated with the tools of continuous nonlinear programming. In parallel with the theoretical part, hands-on sessions will be carried out, where the students will develop and test custom-made algorithms for constrained nonlinear programs. An overview of the main available toolboxes will be also given, via application to examples and case studies.
