Course Description Vibration and waves in one and two-dimensional continuous systems: transversal vibration of stretched strings, axial vibration of bars, bending vibration of slender beams and thin plates, traveling and standing waves, mechanical impedance. Sound waves and sound radiation from vibrating structures: the acoustic wave equation, propagation of plane and spherical sound waves, acoustic impedance, acoustic source models, sound radiation from infinite/finite plates, critical frequency, radiation efficiency. Introduction to experimental techniques and numerical methods in vibroacoustics.
