Part of the course is devoted to a practical introduction to Monte Carlo techniques. The course offers an operative view of Bayesian statistics. TOPICS: Principles of Bayesian learning. Bayesian learning for: proportions, mean and variance in normal model, Poisson count data. Conjugate priors. Introduction to R software. Monte Carlo integration. Bayesian linear regression. Bayesian mixture models. Bayesian classification. Bayesian reliability. Applications to electrical load forecasting.
