Course Description The main objective of this course is to educate the student about the most important electric systems for the renewable energy conversion. For this purpose at first the basic principles of the electromechanical energy conversion and the main electric machines are presented. The next session of the course will deal with the electronic power converters used to interface the generators to the electric network. Subsequently, the electric energy conversion of the various renewable sources and their connection to the distribution grids will be undertaken. Finally, the course will treat the storage systems used with renewable power plants. The exercise classes will be mainly addressed to the energy conversion systems modeling.
