Course Description The course aims at providing a general overview of the various aspects and the historical perspective of cooperation and development models. The course aims to widen the vision of the students to the many implications that energy may have on development in order to understand the effect that this knowledge may have on the engineering planning in term of design, size and costs. The Project Cycle Management is used as tool for appropriate design of cooperation Action and more specifically for energy project, the Comprehensive Energy Solution Planning methodology is introduced to formulate and optimise energy systems to meet local needs, exploit local resources and comply with economic, environmental and cultural boundary conditions. The methodology is then applied to a real-case project work, simulating the proposal preparation for an international call about rural electrification in Africa.
