Course Title AUTOMATION OF ENERGY SYSTEMS
Course Type Mono-Disciplinary Course
Credits (CFU / ECTS) 5.0
Semester Second Semester
Course Description The course deals with the main control problems encountered in the systems for the production, the distribution, and the use of energy. The solutions nowadays adopted for said problems are reviewed, and the possible future developments in the field are illustrated. The main goal of the course is to induce in the students a systemic view on the subject, without delving into technological details (concerning for example the various types of generators) that can be learnt in specialised courses. After a methodological part and a synthetic review of the present technology, some simple case studies are solved and discussed, the multi-physics nature of which allows to appreciate the usefulness and potential of the proposed systemic approach.
