Course Description In the course the design of complex systems with reference to ground vehicles is addressed from a multidisciplinary perspective. Multi-objective optimisation and Robust Design methods are introduced. The methods are applied to optimise designs related to ground vehicles. The optimal design of structural elements, the concept design of vehicles, the vehicle suspension design, the integration of electronically controlled systems will be discussed. In the course the student will learn to create an appropriate mathematical description of the system and then to formulate and solve the optimisation problem
