Course Description The course is focused on teaching methods and tools for planning and managing system development projects from small ones to the megaprojects. Topics are covered from strategic, tactical, and operational perspectives; the aim is to give a global view of the critical aspects, risks and opportunities in the management of all kind of projects. The material of the course includes conceptual frameworks that help managers to understand the nature and characteristics of different types of innovation and the related, different learning processes. It discusses their impact as well as practical insights on new business processes and product introductions. The course tackles issues a strategic level, as well as decisions of a more tactical nature. Industrial case studies expose factors that are typical drivers of success and failure in managing of projects and innovations with both hardware and software content (e.g., Ms Project, Ms Excel, etc). The detailed learning objectives are as follows. ¿ Advanced methods and tools of project management. ¿ System dynamics. ¿ Realistic application of methods and strategic issues. ¿ Project Organizations. ¿ Organizational Innovation, innovativeness, and new product success.
