Course Title TREND FORECASTING AND STRATEGIC INNOVATION
Course Type Mono-Disciplinary Course
Credits (CFU / ECTS) 6.0
Semester First Semester
Course Description The course is designed to provide specific information on the relation between product and service's design and individual and collective users. The course considers tools and methods used to understand individual and collective behaviour, helpful in order to foster creativity and innovation in design. The purpose of the course is to study the process of the user's choice (needs, attitudes, beliefs), its determinants and its implications for design strategy and to show how concepts, principles and theories from different social sciences (e.g., psychology, social psychology, ethnography, semiotics) are applied in user behaviour studies. Three specific areas will be investigated: user behaviour considered as an individual, user and collective creativity as a source of innovation and the intercultural communication process that occurs between the user and the sender when a message, a product or a service is shared.
