Course Description The aim of the course is to provide the student with an in-depth analysis of the elements of the measurement and regulation chains that allow the automatic and safe conduction of chemical and industrial processes. Once the physical, fluid dynamic, thermoelectric and chemical principles that govern the generation of the measurement signals are recalled, the typical measurement and status instruments used in the process units are analyzed. The construction features, the flow characteristics and the sizing of the control valves are then illustrated. The other final control elements are also presented (e.g. electric heater control). Finally, the symbolism of representation of the instrumentation is treated.
